Mental training clinic for climbers
By Between the Lines Coaching & The Rock Warrior's Way
6 full days Spend a week immersed in climbing, learning, and relaxing on the stunning coast of Montenegro, where limestone cliffs meet the Adriatic Sea, canyons offer endless walls, and the crags stay quiet. What to expect: • A week of climbing in Montenegro Beautiful rock, peaceful crags, and endless opportunities to explore movement, strategies, commitment, and flow. • The Rock Warrior’s Way: Falling & Commitment Clinic The Warrior’s Way® training addresses falling directly to help improve commitment. One of the objectives is to diminish the fear of falling by learning falling as a skill. You will learn exactly how to do it so you have fun practicing, and how to progress in your practice. Another thing Falling & Commitment teaches is how to “struggle well” by valuing the challenge. You’ll learn how to stay focused while engaged in difficult climbing and how to manage your energy so you can stay committed. • Educative mental coaching sessions and open discussions Daily guidance on how to: - Relate to stress – what is stress, how does it show up, and how to manage it. - Understand your fears (fear of falling, fear of failure, various social fears and performance pressure) and why certain emotions show up - Explore tools from sport psychology and climbing-specific mental training to help you gain insight, build resilience, and trust under pressure. • Sea -view accommodation Stay in a cozy apartment in a quiet bay overlooking sea cliffs and a small local crag— best sunset views included. • Evening reflection & conversation Unwind under kiwi trees, listen to the sea and crickets, and engage in open discussions about climbing psychology and mental training - anything you were ever curious about but didn’t know who to ask. Or, just enjoy the sound of crickets. From fight, flight, and freeze… to flow above the sea breeze.

Easy morning, possibility to go for a morning swim. We begin at 12 pm with a little introduction. The crag starts getting into the shade at 1 pm, which is the sign for us to start with the Falling & Commitment material.
Evening program – additional reflections after a day of falling and climbing, and further discussions about fear (why is it so hard to work with it, why it can be so overpowering and persistent, what makes it grow, and what makes it fade)
• Individualized approach with coaching, small group
• Accommodation (a private room is possible for an extra fee).
• Early evening pick up in Podgorica, or the airport, the day before the start; possible drop off at the end
• Welcome and goodbye dinner

Day 02
Visit to a bigger crag - Cijevna (1.5h away). Here, you get introduced to the endless canyon walls, packed with great routes. Program for the day – second part of the Falling & Commitment Clinic. Maybe some project shopping as well, who knows :)
Day 03
(Active) rest day. Possible hike to one of the neighboring mountains.
Afternoon topic – Attention (why is it important, how to train it, how to develop simple protocols to maintain it)
Day 04
Another visit to Cijevna – if you found a project, great! If not yet, now is the time. We engage in applying tools and skills learned during the first two days. Whichever personal challenges you experience, I will be there to work with you through them.
Evening food for thought – Goal setting and expectations (how both influence motivation; maintaining flexibility, and finding balance between desire to progress and finding joy in the present moment)
Day 05
(Active) rest day. Lots of chilling at the beach and swimming. You can walk along the rugged coast. There is also a bouldering area nearby, if you are curious to check it out.
Afternoon topic – Mental training and injuries
Day 06
Final climbing day. In agreement, we go back to Cijevna one more time, or we pay a visit to another epic crag – Smokovac (1h drive away).
Evening food for thought – How to keep on practicing newly learned strategies.
